The Wood Family ages their traditional, all-natural Vermont maple syrup in a bourbon barrel (that was previously used to age bourbon at Tuthilltown Spirits in New York State) for 4 to 6 months. During this time, the syrup soaks in the flavor of the barrel, char and a little left over bourbon.
This was the Wood Family’s first specialty syrup and after they let us try it, we felt excited to share it with you! Oh, and it’s kid friendly!
Drizzled over vanilla ice cream-it’s like an adult after dinner drink! Yet it’s actually subtle enough for family Sunday morning French toast or pancakes!
It is also delicious drizzled over fruit, used as a glaze for roasted meats, poultry and fish or stirred in yogurt.
Also a great ingredient for craft cocktails!!
