I am very proud to be the “Carter” in Carter & Cavero. My maiden name—Carter–which is also what most people call me—“Hey, Carter, heard about the olive oil store?” was chosen by my son Sam and his partners to headline their “Old World Olive Oil Company!” “Cavero” is the family name of Mercedes Wall, the wife of Chris and the editor our C&C Newsletter.
The other thing I am very proud of these days is my newly published book— A Perfectly Kept House is the Sign of a Misspent Life (Rizzoli). It’s all about how to live creatively with collections, clutter, work, kids, pets, etc… and stop worrying about everything being perfectly in its place!!!! In other words, how to live with the things you love!
On the weekend of November 13-14, I’ll be paying a visit to our C&C stores in Red Bank and Princeton to share a little bit about the book, my philosophy of living imperfectly, to taste some of my favorite C&C oils and vinegars, and to sign my book! My friend Geri Roper will be my special sidekick both days. Her story, “Living with Dogs,” is one of the seven “Case Histories” of the book. Geri’s from Rumson, and has a great life and attitude about living with her four wonderful spaniels—Henry, Elle, Wylie and Dash! Carter & Cavero is graciously sharing a percentage of the book sales with some really good people from local pet agencies. So, please stop by and toast the imperfectly perfect life with us and try one of our extra special doggy treats made for humans! And remember, “Don’t scrub the soul out of your home!”
