If you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a thousand times: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. But making time to have a nutritious, delicious and beautiful breakfast can seem like a daunting task. Enter honey– the multipurpose, scrumptious, and healthy pick-me-up for an array of breakfast foods from coffee to scones.
This week is National Breakfast Week, and to honor the key role breakfast plays in our daily lives, I chose to make an elegant and simple go-to (and to-go!) parfait.
Parfait is the general name given to any combination of yogurt, fruit and granola. This time around, though, I’ve paired Savannah Bee Wildflower Honey with Greek yogurt and a less common fruit: pomegranates.
Wildflower Honey from Savannah Bee is 100% pure, unpasteurized and KSA Certified. Combined with the healthy probiotics found in Greek yogurt, the antioxidants in pomegranates and the fiber in granola, you’ve got a breakfast that’s as healthy as it is easy to assemble.
Give this gorgeous, portable honey parfait a try for a productive and energized day!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp. Savannah Bee Wildflower Honey
- small handful of granola
- 1 tbsp. pomegranate arils (seeds)
Instructions:
- Scoop Greek yogurt into the bowl (or cup to go).
- Top with honey, sprinkle granola and pomegranate over the top.
- Stir and enjoy!
Tips:
- Buying pomegranate arils is much more convenient than cutting them out of a whole pomegranate, but can be slightly pricier. If you choose to harvest the arils yourself, do so the night before to save time during your busy morning.
- Any granola will work, but choosing one with high fiber and protein will keep you feeling satiated until lunchtime.
- Not a fan of pomegranates? Try blueberries, blackberries or another fruit that’s low in sugar and high in antioxidants.
